A Young Fans Dream

Having it been our first time in seeing Cher live, it was more than Magical! Cher is an Angel in disguise. To me, Cher is ever so flawless and timeless.

Taylor at 10 years, attended the Jan 3, 2004 Saturday night performance in Las Vegas. We were front row to the side of the stage. Could not of asked for better seats. As the crowd began to stand for Cher upon her entrance on stage, Taylor whom has Cerebral Palsy is in a wheelchair and could no longer see. He became so excited in Cher's presence, that he was trying to perk his body as high as he could in his wheelchair to try to see over all the people standing. Taylor then decided on his own to wheel right up to the stage to watch and here I was thinking, "OMGoodness, what is he doing." The security looked over at me and gestured that it was okay and he kindly positioned Taylor facing Cher on the stage. Well, I could of not been any more excited as for Cher's first entrance song, she noticed Taylor as she was approaching the end of the stage and pointed right at him and gave him a thumbs up. How awesome!! Okay, deep breaths! The night was just beginning.

Later in the show, Cher's assistant came out over to Taylor with a bag full of 2003 Farewell Tour items that Cher had requested in giving to Taylor. Well, at this point, I was in tears. I was so touched by this gesture and not too mention, was this a dream or what! I was so excited for my little man as to I was sure he was higher than any star at this point. Taylor looked over at me with the brightest glow on his face along with his eyes sparkling. You could clearly see the state of shock written all over his face. Taylor continued to 'rock on' in his special spot along with Cher. I thought in having the shaky legs of excitement in going to a Cher concert was an experience in it's self, but at this point, phew, I was enjoying my dream to the fullest and was too much at peace in not wanting to wake up.

Shortly after, Cher's assistant came out again and asked me if I was the mother of Taylor and I said yes. She then said that Cher would like our phone number to call Taylor oneday. I was not sure I heard her correctly, so I asked her again and sure enough, it was Cher's request. I was so caught off guard that I even forgot our phone number. I continued to be in such awe from then on. I could not even focus on the show as I was watching Taylor's actions rocking with Cher and seeing that he was so, so happy. Okay, this is just a magical dream. You need to knock it off with all these magical touches and just listen to Cher perform. I knew that I was at peace as Taylor was having a dream come to life along with Mom. But please, do not let me wake up just yet.

Cher came out with her "If I Could Turn Back Time" performance and it appeared that Taylor was her star for the night as she threw the sailor hat she choose from the fans hat toss onto the stage to him. The feeling I had on this special night, was truly a magical sensation. I realized as I looked at Taylor's face filled with such inner peace and in his body language as in the way he wheeled himself over and gave me the biggest hug with the given strength he holds and with such emotion about his experience, that I truly knew at that point I was awake. No dreaming here. It was a dream that was alive for the two of us. It was simply an evening where my special angel was able to forget all about his trials and was to enjoy life and his inspiration even if it was just for a night.

Taylor at 10 years old is a big fan of Cher and during his daily trials with his disability, he turns to Cher for his dose of inspiration and daily lift for that troubled day he may have. When he is down on himself and having a low day, he just listens to Cher and he "Snaps Out Of It." Taylor is still in awe to this day that Cher was so kind to him and even noticed him. This night could not have gotten any better. My goodness, I thought going to see Cher live was a highlight ... but with the special added touches ... WHOA! Magical!

Actor Nicholas Cage sat about 3 rows behind us and I was able to snap a shot of him as he walked by in front of us upon leaving the concert.

I am so grateful in what a difference Cher makes in peoples lives that very much appreciate and respect her. She is truly a blessing and has that special grace about her in making one feel so alive and fresh. Her music to my ears are like wearing true diamonds. Precious and Worthy. To watch Cher in her acting career is such a powerful feeling within. She is just simply so beautiful and ever so stunning. To me Cher is Flawless, No Mask - Straight Forward Attitude. The best decision in her life, is in sharing her talents. Many compliments to her on her talents, attitude and strength. I am thankful to Cher for being such an inspiration to my Special Boy and to me in the sharing of her life profession, personal views, thoughts and opinions. I am very proud of her and very much look up to her as she is not afraid to speak the truth. Cher is a blessed being for anyone to have the honor in sitting in the company of. May Her Beat Always Live On and Continue To Answer To Herself and God.

My Cher Experience

Part 1:
The magic in Las Vegas was not complete without Cher. On January 3, 2004 Cher sparkled her magic here as I went to A ~Cher Farewell Tour~ Concert. Being a fan of Cher, I was so excited to see her in person at my 1st concert! When Cher dropped down on the chandelier wearing her 40 lb winter coat, I was so excited I was acting like a maniac. Cher took off her coat, went to the left side of the stage where I was sitting and I said "I love you" when she pointed to me and gave me a thumbs up.

Part 2:
"All I Really Want To Do"
During a video at the concert, Cher’s assistant came out and gave me a bag full of things from Cher. 2 Cher Living Proof Farewell Tour 2003 T- Shirts, Cher Bear, Magnets, Key Chain, Cher Logo Cap, Cher Stick On Picture and an Autographed Very Best Of Cher CD.

Part 3:
"If I Could Turn Back Time"
Cher was wearing a sailor hat that she picked from the hats that were thrown on the stage and was singing "If I Could Turn Back Time." Before she threw the hat, she came to the left side of the stage where I was and threw it to me. But I was so excited I couldn’t catch it! The hat went behind me under my wheelchair and the security picked it up and put it on my head.

What I want to say to Cher:
I love you so much Cher. I think your an awesome singer and actress. I can not wait until you call me. Thank you for the bag of totally awesome stuff. I wish you good luck in the future and hope to meet you one day.

My Phone Call From Cher

Taylor Talking To Cher

On July 15, 2004, I thought I was going to a Cher fan club meet 'n' greet at the Stratosphere restaurant called Fellini's in Las Vegas where Cher fans were gathering in town because there was a Cher convention. Well, me, my parents arrived at the restaurant to find out that it was a Surprise Birthday Party for me and that we were going also going to the Cher convention with many Cher fans as well. I was very SURPRISED!

While we were having dinner, a cell phone rang and everyone was told to be quite. I was then told I had a phone call. I took the phone and said, “Hello, who’s this?” A lady said, “Hi, this is Cher.” I didn’t believe it really was Cher. So I said, “Who really is this?” Cher said, “This is Cher.” I then said, “Is this someone from the restaurant?” Cher said, “No, this really is Cher.” Then all I could say from that moment on was; “Oh My God! Oh My God! Oh My God!” Cher then said to me, “Is that all you can say is OH MY GOD?”

My special phone call I have been waiting for from Cher was arranged to surprise me during my surprise birthday party. Cher and I talked about things and it was a really good talk. I told Cher that I really enjoy her music and that she has a great voice. One comment that came in my head and out of my mouth was, “I also think you have a GREAT body.” Everyone in the room laughed. Cher was amazed at what I had said. Cher accepted the compliment by saying, “Thank you for that compliment. How old are you?” I chuckled a little bit after that and said, “11.”

Cher had asked me if it was my birthday I thought. I could not hear her because the phone was fuzzy. Cher repeated, “Is today your birthday?” I said, “No, it is not my birthday today. My birthday is on July 24. This is a surprise birthday party thrown for me by CHER FANS WHO LOVE YOU.” Cher had then said, “So your birthday is in a little while?” I said, “Yes.” Cher had asked, “What are you going to be doing on your birthday?” I said, “Probably celebrate at home, enjoying myself with my parents.” She could not understand me in who I said I was going to spend my birthday with, so I repeated myself and said, “My parents.” Cher asked me, “Where is home?” I said, “In Las Vegas, NV.” She was very happy for me and said “Well, I wish you a happy birthday.” I said, “Thank you.”

I then thought I needed to tell Cher something important I have saved up to tell her on the day of my phone call with her. So, before she would have to go, I said to her, “I want you to know something really quick.” Cher said, “Okay.”

I said, “I have three wishes; My first wish is to be able to walk without a walker and wheelchair one day. My second wish is that my Mom wouldn't become sick any more. My third wish is to meet you because I want to give YOU a really BIG hug.” Cher was very surprised.

Cher was very curious about my Mom being sick and asked, “What does your Mom have?” I was very embarrassed because I could not remember. I said, “Um, my Mom Liz has some stomach problems.” Cher asked, “How long has she had problems?” I said, “She has had it for quite a while, a couple of years.” Cher again asked, “What does your Mom have?” I said, “I am not sure.” Cher then said, “Well, did you ask her?” I pulled the phone away quickly whispering to my Mom and said “Mom, what is it?” “My mom said, “Fluids to the brain.” I pulled the phone back to my ear and said, “Fluids to the brain.” My Mom did not really explain about her illness because the room was filled with many people and it was not a good time to talk about it.

Cher then asked, “How do you suppose you are going to walk?” I was almost about to cry. I said, “It is going to take me quite a while, a couple of years. I try as many times as I possibly can.” Cher told me one of her sayings that goes; “A few years might seem a long time, but go by very fast.” Cher talked more about it to me, but I can not remember everything right now that she had said to me. But I did say in the end, “That’s true.” I was trying not to burst out crying for the 2nd time. We talked just a little bit more.

Cher then said, “I wish you a happy birthday.” I then said, “Thank you.” Cher said, “We are going to have a concert in Las Vegas soon, but I do not know when because I don't have the dates, but we have your Mom’s number, so we’ll contact your Mom to let her know when it is and you will be our guests so you can come visit us.” I said, “Thank you.” Cher said, “I love YOU.” I said, “I love YOU too.” I then said, “I wish you good luck in the future,” and Cher also said, “I wish you good luck in the future.” I said, “Thank you.” Cher then said, “Goodbye.” I said, “Bye.”

I then said, “Oh My God!” I then burst into tears and said, “Dad, can you take me to the restroom.” My Mom gave me a real big hug before I left. I then left the room because I needed the time alone to ‘Believe.’

The Invite

On January 29, 2005 the day of Cher's concert in Las Vegas, we did not here anything until 6 hours prior to the show. When the phone rang at 2:00 PM, my heart raced faster than a race horse. I heard this womens voice stating her name upon answering the phone. Well, I just about fell off my chair with such relief that it was Cher's assistant. The news did not come about as expected. I was told that they were not able to do the meet 'n' greet. My heart just sank. It felt like a giant boulder fell from my throat to my stomach. Deb stated that it was just too hectic, however, we do have your tickets to the show. I tried to keep the joy and appreciation alive in my voice, however, knowing that I had to break the news to our Taylor upon the end of the phone call did make it difficult. I will also not deny my sadness in not being able to accompany Taylor on a meet 'n' greet that we anticipated in sharing together as the best memory for a lifetime other than the special day Taylor and I had our first dance together on a 10th wedding anniversary in renewing wedding vows.

In further discussion with Cher's assistant during the phone call, a future meet 'n' greet maybe possible. We did very much enjoy the concert. It is so incredible in how one forgets about the outside world and all of life's daily pressures in the presence of Cher and even in your own space upon listening to her music and television appearances/movie performances. Taylor was sent a bag of goodies with a Cher Tour Program personally autographed to him.

Taylor did have a very hard time with the news of not being able to have the meet 'n' greet. He has many dreams and wishes, however, he has focused on his Cher dream along with many prayers in the hopes of coming alive in being able to share his love in giving that one big special hug he spoke of to Cher during their telephone conversation as to part of his three wishes he shared with her. Loving Taylor as I do, to me, my needs never seem to be priority even though I myself have serious health issues. Taylor is what makes me get up every morning and reminds me that he is the one that is my teacher in learning that I have strength in where I never thought to have had. Taylor's happiness is my happiness. Even if it is just a moment to bring upon that added gleam to his heart, then I feel such inner peace that he was able to feel the colors of his rainbow for that few moments. That is why I focus so much into making his dreams come alive. The Special Trooper that he is and the love he shares in leaving heartprints, it is so terribly hard to see him when his heart hurts and upon the times when he is so lonely in not having friends in his life. He is blessed with a warm heart and passes the warmth in the touch of his finger tips to another that will reach out to him and accept his graciousness.

We will continue to 'Believe' as my Trooper has a HUG to deliver.
